We now know who we want to win though. Either Bernie or Clinton.

That's almost as important as the white house. All a Democrat president can do is have veto power over a rabid Republican congress - and of course have some power with executive actions.

It's a moot point anyway because he has very little chance of getting the nomination and if by chance he does, there is no way he'd get elected.
When did he vote against the Dream Act? In 2007 he voted Aye for Cloture. Next vote was in 2010 where he also voted in favor.

If you're talking about voting against CIR 2007 then in all honesty I don't blame him, the bill was dead in the water and in all honesty it wasn't a good bill, especially considering the requirement to leave and undergo visa processing abroad (with estimated wait of 3 years). So, you lose your job, you lose your place to live, and for all intends and purposes you're basically over at square one. That provision basically invalidated the entire bill: You don't leave - you don't get legal status. You leave - you lose everything else and you might end up just staying in your country of origin. I know people here romanticize that bill because you'd deepthroat a telephone pole for legal status, and I understand that, but think of your family, probably not the sharpest bunch. How many of you would likely end up in Mexico (or any other country of origin) if your family took the deal and then decided that US is no longer worth it?

Do you really think immigration in general would be worse off today had the 2007 CIR passed? That was 8 years ago. So much good could have happened in 8 years if we would have had some sort of legal status. I'm not saying Bernie is horrible for immigration and he's definitely better than Republicans, but to make him out to be a champion of immigration reform and keep posting these spam political ads about him needs to be challenged. For the record, Clinton and Obama both voted for the 2007 CIR.

On top of that, I have heard Bernie talk about how immigration hurts the American worker on several occasions so while it's great that he wants to help those already here, deep in his heart, he doesn't like us all that much.

And FYI, it's not just romanticizing legal status. Our very existence pretty much depends on it. I can be deported at any time now. I could have a bad day and pulled over by an overzealous deputy and my life as I know it could be over. I've managed to prevent that in the last 8 years (ok, 30 years) but that luck will run out sooner or later. That's not my imagination. If Bernie really liked us, he could have voted for that 2007 bill and maybe help convince a few other people to also vote for it.

That could be said for any issue really, but this is what the intellectuals of our time refer to as "Don't hate the player, hate the game".
