Thanks for the advice. I just saw your reply so she will try tomorrow. What did you tell them when you called?

If you look on their webpage normally there is a form you can fill out to have them act on your behalf to request uscis for an expedite. Call their office and ask about getting congressional help with uscis. The congressman aide will help you with that.

Sk16 thanks for the suggestion to contact Congressman. Although it's was also a headache my sister's AP was approved Aug 3. Our flight left on Aug 7 but she still had not received her AP documents. She changed her flight and left the 10th. AP papers still hadn't arrived. They arrived the following day. My brother in law sent them via FedEx to my aunts house.

We enjoyed two weeks in Mexico visiting family whom we had not seen since we were kids. Even met new family members.

The travel back was a little nerves wrecking. The airline personnel at Mexico City airport didn't know much about AP. They wanted to keep atleast one of my documents. I nicely stated that both needed to be presented to US customs. He then had to call supervisor and consulate. After about 10 minutes that seemed like a lifetime, we were allowed to check out bags. Flight was fine. We tried to relax. Arrived at LAX at 10pm Mon. Aug 22 went to visitors line. Was greeted by a nice gentleman who took pictures and finger prints. He asked if we had ever traveled with AP before. We said no. He then said we needed to go to secondary inspection. We went to a room where there were lots of people. Some of the interviewing officers were talking very harsh to those being interviewed. We tried to stay calm as more people came in. I secretly was texting my husband who was there to pick us up that we were still waiting. No phones are allowed in the room. After over an hour we got called and were handed our passports stamped. Officer kept both AP documents and said we could go. No questions asked. Our luggage had been brought to us by the airline and we left with the biggest sigh of relief. It feels great to be back with my family. I would love to travel to México again withmy kids but with all the delays I might just wait for my status to change before I go again.
