I'm going to be honest, I don't have the energy to fight on anymore. When we were fighting for Dream Act, I was 18 years old. I'm much older now and I just don't have the will and youth to keep fighting. If DACA got rescinded, I know I can't get back to the shadow after 4 years of normal life. I will move back to my birthplace and never look back. The American people have made their voice heard this election, they don't want us here.
Remember that more Americans did vote for Hilary than Trump, and most Americans do favor comprehensive immigration reform. I also can't go back into the shadows, and will most likely leave if it comes to that. But DACA has not yet been rescinded and it won't be for the next two months. This gives us time to organize and fight back while we still have DACA.

I actually can go back to the shadows. That's better than going back to my home country and live in fear... Not because of racism or being deported but for my life. No, thank you! I am staying here. This is my home. My parents did not make the biggest sacrifice of their life for me to just go back. We are staying... Unless of course they escort me out. In that case, I'm telling them I'm from another country. Hopefully I can get a free trip. lol

However, I think this was their last stand. In 4 years, things should go back to normal. This is not a normal situation, look Trump did not win the majority vote. Sarah Palin will be in the cabinet and some really stupid people will be in charge of the country. This is not going to last.
Don't underestimate the ability of voters to make the same mistakes again and again. If Bush can become a 2 term president, anything is possible. I just don't to gamble 4 more years of my youth living in the shadow and then Trump get reelected again.

I got my college degree and have momentum for my career, I believe I can have successes elsewhere. 4 years of work gap on my resume will be very damaging for engineering professional.

I believe DACA will not end once Trump takes office, however, if he does take it away I believe we should have a date in which the entire nation will protest especially in DC. We are now seeing peaceful protest for the most part but the ones that will come if he ends it will NOT be peaceful. If he ends DACA, I also believe he will pursue immigrants to deport them as well. We will need to organize a nation wide protest like the one we held years ago on May 1st. I dont think he will go that route but we need to get with activist and take the streets across America. If you are scared to protest just remember that we do have the right to as long as we are doing it in peace. The fear needs to stop and fight for what we deserve. Look at the African Americans and what they had to go through to get their rights. I know they couldn't get deported like we could but we have every right to protest as long as it aint us causing the chaos, well leave that for our fellow US citizens. I pray that we wont have to take this kinds of actions but we cant just sit at home and get everything we worked so hard for taken away from us.

Maybe grad school to fill the gap? My younger brother will be doing this. Also, it is feasible to establish and LLC and do some consulting if you have an advanced degree.

I'm with you. I had barely turned 18 at the time as well. Now I too feel that I don't have the energy to keep hope. For us that are older we just want to stabilize. I refuse to go back to the shadows and just hope once again that something new would happen. Canada will be lifting visa requirements for Mexicans so that's an option to go try a new life there or even another country. Other dreamers are already doing this and are not turning back.

I looked into those 2 options. Problem is that I haven't been working long enough to save money for grad school. I have some good experience but not good enough to do consulting work yet. What is your plan?

I am exploring options but a small company would be an option. My brother is also an engineer and my youngest is almost done with his computer engineering degree as well.

If three engineers cannot survive with better than min wage jobs then we would be really stupid.
