Not sure how likely it is to qualify/be-granted this waiver, but it bothers me that lawyers don't know or don't tell you about this option
They don't tell you because it's hard work and not 100% guaranteed. You'll also have to leave the country, and wait for the waiver to be approved from there. If you think about it, why would they take your case when they can get someone working for Google with an H1B, take him through the PERM process, and charge 10-15k. It's easy for them.

There are some "loopholes" that a lot of lawyers know but probably don't tell us because a lot of them are worthless and want easy money. I'd literally have shot myself in the head after 1 year of practicing law like that, to each their own I guess.

You have a one in 4 chance of getting an H1B each year. The applications far exceed the amount that are actually given.

Yea, but you'd only need to leave the country to apply for the waiver once you have the visa available, after the lottery. I agree the chances are low. It is a lottery after all, but we are not the ones paying for it.

I was referring to the 10 year ban. Also, do the chances would go up because of the masters in engineering?
I'm gonna talk to my attorney and see what she says. Getting sponsored by my job shouldn't be a problem.

That's exactly my point. I am also in a similar position. I also have my engineering degree and work in the tech field, getting sponsored shouldn't be a problem.

Definitely let us know what your lawyer says. I'd appreciate it. I'll do so as well.

Where else would you serve it? I'm confused.

I talked to my lawyer. She said the ban can be served inside the US with a waiver. However, you would not be able to apply for a green card while serving the ban. This is a very costly and high risk path guys... I dont know what to think.

Dreamers should push for a way for us to get some sort of bill that would help us with these bans. Many of us could get right with the law easily if it was not for them.

So you would just be illegal during the 10 years? I'm confused.

No, you will be here legally with a visa. You would just not be able to apply for a green card for 10 years.
