This is something which I theorized from the beginning of the discussions shortly after the election. I do not believe this will pass on its own obviously that would be ridiculous. I do however believe that this could be part of the broader enforcement bill as someone else suggested. I think there could be a chance. Maybe not as big of a chance as DA 2010, but there is definately a chance.

I think this has a realistic chance of happening. Obviously I would prefer they pass the DREAM Act, but that has a "pathway to citizenship" that seems to be a nonstarter for republicans. But if this measure is only to address DACA, then there is no logical reason to deny it. It will move through congress, have bipartisan support, not be an executive order, not have a pathway to citizenship, and not come from Obama. And it will carry the added bonus of stopping the massive protests that would happen if they end DACA and start coming after DREAMers, which would have been a PR nightmare for the GOP. And Trump gets to say he ended DACA. It's a win win for everyone.

As for us, I know everyone would rather have the DREAM Act, but really with something similar to DACA we have more time to find other ways to adjust our status. Such as marriage, or the super long wait through a USC sibling or PR parents. Just stay out of trouble and we should be alright. I really hope the Democrats don't become the new obstructionists and somehow screw this up for us just for the sake of denying Trump credit for anything. Fingers crossed!
