The list is a (tiny) bit longer, but those 1st world countries that still offer birthright citizenship usually have legal residence restrictions. Though Australia is still somewhat close to the system over here

i find that odd. what about H1B holders who have kids here? why should those be allowed to be US citizens? I know their parents have legal status but H1B still means temporary worker..

Democrats will oppose any efforts to do away with birthright citizenship. The GOP shouldn't even try to bring that subject up in a bill.
