DACA can easily be repealed. Democrats know this, they have to work with Trump to find common ground on an immigration reform package. If not they will be blamed for whatever happens to us. Both parties, especially democrats, don't want to carry that weight. We are only a couple days into Trump's presidency, DACA has not and will not lose its political value.

I think I mentioned it before, but DACA is being saved for the border wall/enhanced border patrolling funding negotiations. I think it's clear that they will try to fold us in with that and try to force Democrats and the Gang of Eight to go along since they would be getting something out of it. Those negotiations will be interesting because I don't think Democrats are going to like giving Trump two wins in one: the wall for his base and Trump getting credit for saving DACA kids to more moderate and Latino voters.

You know, in a weird way, Trump winning may in fact be one of the only ways for something positive happening legislatively for us. If Hillary had won, the Republicans would have rejected everything tooth and nail as they did for 6 years with Obama but if Trump's team actually wants to jam us through their caucus, he might have enough pull to do so. Of course, we can't be sure his base will go along with this long-term and then they have to course correct to keep them happy, so we can't be running a victory lap just yet.
