If the ban was only 90-120 days, will it still go to the Supreme Court? It took DAPA/eDACA a lot longer than that didn't it? Either way this is a good victory. If the 9th challenges Trump on everything like this, there will be way too many cases for the Supreme Court to hear them all and we will still be able to get some victories.

Here's the reason for their decision:

Hopefully Trump won't get all angry and try to win a cheap victory by repealing DACA. This would be an easy target for him.

Yeah that is what I am thinking...

Courts will not be able to do shit then.

Perhaps Courts could stop deportations of dreamers based on the "pulling the rug" argument though.

Or a win for Trump could have emboldened him to repeal DACA.

I'm just glad the courts are standing up to Trump. It's important that there are checks and balances.

Am I reading this right? Standing was proven because it affected the Universities, which are considered a branch of government and it would have affected it's students and faculty? A major point being that the students and teachers can't travel abroad for study and research? That's kind of a big deal and sets a precedent for a lawsuit if they cancel DACA on those same grounds, which have already been ruled on by the 9th! through this decision.

And if the issue brought by the govt was that courts don't have the authority to review executive actions, when has the court ever wanted to give up any authority or power? I don't think even a conservative Supreme Court would want to give up any of it's power.

So assuming a nomination, what is the analysis on how a Supreme court might rule with Gorusch on board?
