I base it on historical fact, such as the fact that indentured servitude was already phased out by the 19th century (mostly a 17th-18th century thing). Indenture servants were of all European backgrounds and not just Irish(mostly English at 1st). The 3 year contract allowed them freedom once served, they had some level of rights way and above those of blacks. And the contracts could be sold while the person could not, so yes, the monetary value was still there.

The big wave of Irish immigrants in the 1800's and 1900's was good old American dream seeking and yes the Irish saw a great deal of discrimination, and yes they were considered lesser "whites", but no, they were never on par w/blacks
