Good. I looks like they kept their promise to leave DACA alone until there's some of replacement.

They have introduce RACA in House on 3/9/17 but still stuck in committee. I hope someone introduce RACA in Senate, like Bridge Act is introduced in Senate and House.
Because first they have to deal with Healthcare and Tax Reform.

If it comes up, it'll be when they finally tackle immigration reform or if they want to attach it to something like border security bill.

Really? The guy who wants to end due process in immigration courts and apply expedited removal to potential asylum seekers? You know, the majority of which may actually be fleeing violence and poverty in other countries? That guy?

OK cool.

Don't get me wrong, i don't feel bad for asylum seekers who have absolutely no legitimate basis for their claims, or those who are seeking asylum even after being convicted of violent felonies and shit. Because i met a lot of those when i was in detention, and all i could think of in my mind was "Really? You're fighting an asylum claim but you have a conviction for an aggravated weapons charge?" And they are probably in part responsible for the huge backlog in immigration courts. Total dick move on their part.

But i do believe that there are those with legitimate asylum claims, including women and children, fleeing extreme poverty and violence who may be stripped of their right to seek asylum in this country thanks to these new hardline immigration policies, which Kelly clearly supports. And i think that's totally fucked up.

I think this is what some members on this forum refer to when they say that a lot of you on here are the type who hold onto the approach of "Well, i got my DACA, so fuck everyone else"

This whole thing is bigger than DACA.

Let's think of it this way. It could have been Kris Kobach in the position which will be a lot worse. When compare to other options, Kelly is a blessing for us. Of course we want someone with more compassion for our community, but we just don't have that option. We have to be real with ourself right now.

Of course i understand that you'll take what you can get for now. No argument there.

But we need to start looking at the bigger picture. And this is what most of the advocates in the immigrant community are trying to do. It's not just about DACA.
