Democrats need to compromise with GOP to save us this time . We will see this time whether Democrat really care about us or not
Action speaks louder than words.

I support all measures to stop illegal immigration ( such as E verify , ending catch and release policy etc ).

But Congress needs to act with compassion, needs to provide legal status to all undocumented with no criminal history ( if all is not possible , at lease solve DACA first ), criminal undocumented should be deported immediately

Remember it was because of a Democrat we had DACA. The Republicans have been anti-immigrant and thwarted and made our lives difficult every chance they get. I do agree that both sides need to come together to pass some sort of legislation for Dreamers and their parents but at this point expecting anything positive from the Republicans is like expecting a serial abuser to stop abusing you.

@JenniferShutt

House Approps Committee to mark up Homeland Security spending bill Tuesday.

Prepare for Democrats to offer several border wall amendments.

Where in the article says that we are a bargaining chip - as in RACA is a sure thing if Dems agree to the wall?

It doesn't say, but when you think of the timing it makes sense. Plus plenty of conservatives have speculated over time that Trump was keeping us around as a bargaining chip.

Also, it's not a sure thing that they would take the deal.

I don't get it. The article says nothing about DACA.

In President Obama's 1st term, Democrats controlled both senate and house . They didn't want to do immigration reform. President Obama was criticized for breaking his campaign promise . DACA was created because the pressure from the immigrant community. It's not like Presiden Obama wakes up next morning, then he decides to create DACA. Remember democrats are politicians as well. Politican care about their political interest first. Do not overtrust any politicians.

Democrats maybe just want to use us as politidal leverage .

I am something for sure . If democrat fail to compromise with GOP this time .
There is huge possibility that DACA will be ended. Then we all going back to the pre-DACA life. We have to live in constant fear again, lose our jobs, our driver license and what scares me the most is we will in great risk of being targeted for deportation ( USCIS has our informations )
