How can you say you love the US, if you're holding a foreign flag? It just doesn't make sense.
I think this is the key difference between us Dreamers and immigrants who arrived as adults. The case being made for Dreamers is that we are Americans in all aspects except on paper. I don't think any of us would ever hold up our countries of origin's flag like that. Me, personally, I would proudly wave only the American flag, the only flag I identify with.

So, yes, if you're arguing for #HereToStay, please, please, FWD, UWD, Astrid and whoever else speaks for us, do not conflate us into these kind nationalistic rallies, showing pride for our countries of origin, with protest signs written in Spanish.

These people are just fucking stupid and messing it up for the rest of us. Who's stopping them from waving other countries' flags AFTER they become legalized? But for now, our mantra should be red white and blue all day baby! We have to show these people that we are helping make America Great again! Definitely think this is a generation gap problem. A lot of older people are just uneducated and don't think properly. Some people may not like what I'm saying right now but have to say it. I've come across many situations in my city where people just walk up to you and assume you speak spanish and speak in spanish with you..even with white people! I understand if they'd speak spanish to me because I do have that boricua look and I'm lucky I even very good at it because I took 4 years of it in high school! But to some extent we just have to unite and make an effort to show patriotism towards America. I just wish the dream organizations and immigrant news channels can spread the word somehow to get every fucking person on board with this.
