RAISE ACT - Addresses legal immigration and seeks to change the system to a merit based system.

CORNYNS BILL - This is a Border Security bill, totally unrelated and addresses a completely different topic.

Like I already said, the idea behind that RAISE ACT is a very good one. The Merit Based system is exactly what this country needs. Canada has a merit based system and it is absolutely fair. Right now legally you can only come to America if you have a blood relative and even then it could take 5-20 freakin years. It's unfair and stupid. All I know is these developments are good. It shows that the admin is looking to work on immigration. Perfect opportunity for Democrats and immigrant supporters to come in and broker a DEAL!
