He is just saying that to appeal to his base. He said he is seriously considering it, not that he is doing it.

I dont see how he would waste a pardon on a 6 month jail time.

but can the President pardon state crime? I don't think so it's up to the State Governor.

It was in a federal court the contempt charges happened. The president definitely can pardon.
