The only leverage Democrats have for getting DA passed is if it's attached to the funding bill. If the funding bill passes without DA, Mitch and Ryan will never bring DA up for a vote.

Thoughts?

This is what I am scared of but many of you seem fine with a gov shutdown.
WH already put out a statement suggesting so. Good news is that the media and American people's attention span is like a 2 year old.

So what does this mean? I should be happy of all this? This is good for us?

Democrats are the minority and an unusually monolithic block. Even republicans at their lowest weren't standing shoulder to shoulder like this.

So yeah, even if republicans all vote for it, they'd still need 8 senators to flip, and there's another thing to consider. 2018 is a very rough senate map, now you think - well that should make them flip to avoid any fire. True, but that'd also kill any funding from the DNC for them. So either they lockstep or they can already announce retirement because the first person to primary them is getting all the money.

As Trump said... they rode to the White House with a tough stance on illegals. Republicans can talk all they want but it all comes down to politics and holding onto their seats. I'm afraid Dems will soon be pressured to concede on Daca as well. Wonder why Dream Act stalled in Congress for more than 10 yr? Heck, Obama gave up CIR and only announced DACA ahead of his reelection.

At this point it seems like if they do compromise on DACA it will most likely be the BRIDGE act. Nothing permanent, but more of a stop gap. Of course not the type of deal we would want, let's hope we get something more permanent.
