They want to kick the can down the road because the #GOPtaxscam is gonna blow up the deficit and to balance it, they will claim to need to cut "entitlements" -health insurance, education, environment, whatever makes the U S. the best country on Earth- and that is their plan.

They cannot govern or negotiate in good faith. Just look at the disaster that Red states are for their residents.

If DA passes right before the busiest part of the holidays (Dec. 22nd) when everyone is too busy to pay attention to politics, Republicans may face less uproar from their base.

or

If DA fails right before the busiest part of the holidays (Dec. 22nd) when everyone is too busy to pay attention to politcs, Republicans may face less uproar from the general public.

I'm not sure if timing plays a role in the Republican thought process, but this could be a couple of ways they could be looking at it.

Either way, this wait is really nerve-wrecking. I understand many here want a clean DA with green cards, an opportunity to travel, and a path to citizenship, but I would be overjoyed with simple DACA in order to work and provide for the family. I'm not sure 'overplaying our hand' with these Republicans is the best idea.

They just passed this potentially disastrous tax bill for the American people. If they lack compassion for natural born American citizens, what can Dreamers expect from Republicans?

It doesn’t matter if they added CHIP it’s only a two week extension. They know the Dems are not going home without all their priorities covered.

Keep in mind Schumer and not Reid is the senate leader. Reid would've bend over by now. Why do you think I couldn't wait for Reid to fuck off and retire already?

Reid let Mcconell run the senate, but then again, democrats have never been the opposition party like republicans have been since obama took office

GOP leaders pitched a spending plan on Friday that would keep the government open for two weeks beyond a Dec. 8 deadline. But Buck told IJR he and other House Republicans won't vote for a two-week continuing resolution out of fear the Senate would “jam through higher spending because they have our backs up against Christmas.”

Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) called for the continuing resolution to extend into January. “Does anything good happen a couple days before Christmas?” Meadows said. "Nothing good happens just a few days before Christmas. We are advocating, if there has to be a CR, it should be come [sic] due after Christmas.”

I think it won’t pass the House . The freedom Caucus members won’t vote for it!

Has this dude seen a Christmas movie in his life? This dude is never gonna vote for a spending bill, don’t understand why he’s giving his two cents.
