We want to hear from Pelosi. She gave up negotiating for DreamAct on behalf of Democrats three months ago, has not done any real work/effort that is known and she is going to be accountable for this.

She is on record that she is not going leaving Capitol Hill for the holidays without the Dream Act. Leadership comes with the responsibility to make things happen.

I don’t know why you guys want so desperately for an update everyday from Pelosi, Schumer, etc. You see how up and down the news is everyday. The fact that they are not tweeting and screaming from the tranches is a good thing- it means that a bi-partisan solution is in the works. I firmly believe they are working along party lines to come up with some kind of relief, be it next week or early 2018. Just chill out, these are the people who are rooting for our cause in a more effective way than trying to get their names shouted out in articles.

His comment about negotiating from a position of power, not from trust (in Trump) is actually spot on. Democrats do not negotiate on informal promises on any other issue. They go to the floor and committees, and meetings and legislate and write laws.

Only with immigrants they come back year after year with (legalization) 'May have to wait until <insert every year since 2004>'

The community will no longer give unconditional support for 0 results.

I get that you’re angry but, to be honest, the community will continue to support them because the alternative doesn’t want to help them at all. At times it feels like this is an endless loop. Hopefully this loop breaks soon cuz I’m tired of this roller coaster.

The Democrats
@TheDemocrats
·
3h
Republicans in Congress want to go home for the holidays while nearly 800,000 DREAMers continue to live in fear of deportation. That's wrong. We need a clean #DreamActNow.
BOLD PAC
@BOLDPAC
The @GOP sits idly by the fire escape while Dreamer families get thrown out in the cold because for them, this is what the holidays are all about!

Democrats retweeted this. Boldpac is funded by George Soros. Looks like he’s pushing democrats in the same way that the GOP pushes for the tax scam.

Thousands of people, eligible for Dream Act and not, are being deported daily. This is about accountability; about results, not words. Which do see as effective, charity or advocacy?

Do you think they should help out of mercy or because it's a fair solution?

So turn on the Democratic Party as a whole? Then what?

DACA wasn’t perfect but it was a step out of the shadows. Who gave us that? Who’s taking it away? Also, while we had DACA where were we? I think the majority of us took a step back from activism. We became complacent and thought that Hillary or some other President down the road would push for a pathway to citizenship for us.

In late 2016 reality hit us all in the face. The situation we find ourselves in isn’t ideal but it’s an opportunity to fight for something better than DACA. We definitely need to turn up the pressure on the Democratic Party but to think that turning against them will help us is stupid. Then what? Demand a “clean Dream Act”from both parties until we turn blue and pass out? The only thing we can do is continue putting pressure on BOTH parties to get something done. The best way forward to get a bill passed is through a compromise. We won’t get that by bitching out Pelosi and Schumer only. McConnell and Ryan are the ones we should really be pissed at. If they really wanted to, they could have allowed a vote on the Dream Act back in September.

I agree. We can win this. Dream Act is within a inch's reach as long as we keep up the pressure.

For exampke, black Americans saved Doug Jones's election. But they are tapped for support every election and help return leadership to DC who once again there, don't stand up and fight for their well-being.

Same with the immigrant community.

Progressives align with Democrats; they just tend not to sell out for corporate interests and most importantly, fight back.

The purpose of Daca was dual: to protect some and give work permits and to placate the demand for a permanent solution through Dream Act.
I think we all learned our lesson. Also, national lobbyists groups like America's Voice and NILC fed the press and immigrant communities the belief that the next election and president will solve the issue and would silence those who challenged the strategy used by the previous administration.

Definitely, I agree with you. People need to stop putting so much blind faith in candidates. Neither party will do anything for us if we keep doing that. Like with Obama. When he was first elected I think a lot of us were so certain that he could get something done. He didn’t and as a last resort he put DACA in place. That was awesome on his part but we should have never let up on the pressure for the Dream Act. When talks of DAPA started I think our community almost backed off completely from pressuring for CIR thinking that DAPA was going to be the solution.
