That’s what I am thinking as well. The Republicans keep playing the Democrats are shutting down the government over illegal immigrants card, and Trump has been playing the Democrats want open borders since he was a candidate. His anti-immigration stance is why a lot of people voted for him.

Not looking good for our great Military or Safety & Security on the very dangerous Southern Border. Dems want a Shutdown in order to help diminish the great success of the Tax Cuts, and what they are doing for our booming economy.

Leahy “can’t imagine anybody wants” a 3-week CR:
“Does anybody in their right mind think it’ll make any difference three weeks more on top of 111 days?”

Thank you senator! get that in the thick skull of your colleagues, stupid idea

Exactly...what's the point? Might as well pass the 4 week CR then and go home.

I have a hard time believing the dems held it to the very end just to pass the CR when they could've just done that last night. In my opinion, I feel like they're going to shut it down since they've gotten this far.

So the compromise is 3 weeks instead of 4 weeks... Please tell me this isn't happening.

DEMOCRATS still meeting as the vote looms. A senator in the Room says their plan is to go ahead with the currently-scheduled vote, watch it fail and then sort out what to do. Much of the ongoing meeting is about next steps, the senator says via text. @edatpost

I hope they don’t chicken out at the end. If no shut down happens, we will prolly get some sort of restricted relief bill like Bridge Act, something that lets us have a renewable work permit.
