The ball is partially in democrats court to compromise. They keep saying we are having good discussions, we have no leverage, etc. Then the fuck are you guys holding up things partially for?
At this point I hope that Democrats keep their pathetic caving habits going. This means that they will cave to Trump again LOL

What are you talking about?? 600k-700k lives at risk through no fault of their own. And, if you wait for everyone to get a relief, no one will be left in this country. So, STFU. Understand the situation before you post anything.

You both have a point but do you really think all 11 million people can be deported? That would devastate the economy. There is only a fraction of workers you can take away before the economy nosedives. Also, ICE cannon achieve that goal even in their wildest dreams lol. They cant even recruit more agents.

The leverage is humanity? Wtf is that? They had real leverage to make something happen and they just folded like napkins.

I wish Republicans were the ones calling for relief. This shit would have been over months ago.

Fuck the Democrats and their higher ground. We are now at the mercy of the Republicans and we know how they feel about us. Renew your permits and use the next two years to plan the rest of your lives.

You seem like a educated person. Lets take it back 2 years ago. About 600k-700k young men and women making the best of an opportunity and leading in every field. Did we think we would be in a position we're in today? one month left to daca and all this uncertainty.

We shouldn't underestimate the opponents and try to hit a home run when we could hit a single and stay in the game. Meaning get relief for dreamers and then fight for rest with a stronger force.

I’m not negotiating with anyone. I was just adding pints to the conversation. My personal take on this? Congress will be congress and they will kick the can down the road 2 or 3 more years. What matters is what they put in DACA... it would be a major victory if Dems manage to get us unrestricted travel. Most would clear EWI and adjust through other means.

This why I doubt we'll get travel with a DACA extension.

Work permit and travel - that's all I need. I can care less about USC.

Immigration is a tough subject to debate, the wall and increased border security is the most that I see democrats willing to compromise for us.
Why can't they give the Diversity Visa Lottery? I don't see the point of it. It doesn't really "diversify " anything.

DACA fix (pathway to conditional permanent renewable status) +some "wall funding"/border security+Visa Lottery elimination= A very moderate approach which would easily pass both houses and even get White House blessing

I'm always amazed when all these people say that the DACA fix/immigration reform is hard. It's not HARD, it's just the left and right of both political parties that aren't willing to compromise or give in anything.

I'm an Independent now after all this mess.

Both parties are becoming including extreme and held hostage to unrealistic partisan policy points
