There is no committment to vote for the new GOP framework. Their goal is to prevent floor votes on the bills that do provide citizenship and status.

Cancelling the DV and family cards, only allow 50,000 slots per year.

At that rate, it will take 20 years for the affected population to earn permanent residency.
I doubt it will work out that way. Think about it as a debt consolidation plan, you give 1.5 M visas now but end up saving in the long run, say 2.5 M in 50 years.

I'm hoping this is the case but with the conservatives, they'd prefer to have us suffer every bit of opportunity.

The bill would curb family migration and end the visa lottery program, transferring all of those visas to a new merit-based green-card program that Dreamers and other immigrants could apply for.
Not sure if I like the sound of this. Hopefully we don't have to meet a certain number of points as Dreamers.

That son of a bitch is either rooting for a Trump win in regards to this, or he has some major poison pills in there.

... maybe both.

If Miller's involves expect a Goodlatte lite version.
"Wednesday’s gathering came less than 12 hours after Mr. Ryan’s office announced that the House would consider immigration next week — but not bipartisan bills aimed primarily at protecting young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. Instead, lawmakers will consider a hard-line measure that emphasizes border security and a somewhat more moderate compromise measure, yet to be finalized, that still meets Mr. Trump’s standards"

I think Miller wants to get Trump a win on the wall. There was a lot of blow back from conservatives for the last budget deal.
