Who do you guys think will replace him? Will it be someone with a continued hardline view on immigrants/daca or someone more reasonable?
70% chance according to DogJuiceManNewsNetwork(DNN) that it will be someone more competent but similarly as hardline on immigrants/DACA

I still fail to see how this article is relevant. Yes, Session announced DACA will end, Graham is fighting for a solution, but it has no update on any rulings or a direct connection to DACA. This is just part of the shit show.

If Session Obituary was posted today in this section then it would still be related to DACA.

Why? Sessions is a major impediment to DACA/Dreamers. It's good news for us that he will be replaced.

To the Wrong Threaders.

Quote:
Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday
blasted a federal judge’s decision to fully restart the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program by Aug. 23.

Sessions said in a statement that the Justice Department will “take every lawful measure” to defend the decision to terminate the Obama-era program, which offers deportation relief to undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children

No. Its not good news, Nor bad news simply because whoever remplaces him will follow the same orders. Do you think sessions woke up one morning and said: i think ill end daca, yeah thats what im gonna do today! Im evil muahaha. Short answer is NO. He is the attorney general of this administration. he receives orders and does the work.

But whatever floats your boat. Its good news i guess.

Too bad Democrats suck and will not regain the Senate, else they could block whatever confirmation.

I never said he was solely responsible for the termination DACA. That's a pretty baseless assumption. Sessions has total authority of over the interpretation, administration and enforcement of immigration law. He literally pledge to “take every lawful measure” to defend the decision in the courts to terminate the program.

Now, whether the new AG, if it will happen, will be as strict as him is yet to be decided. I should have reinterpreted my last statement in a different way. Also, the powers of an AG is more than "just receive and follow orders".

Yes you are totally right. They will most likely elect a liberal attorney general. That will undo the termination of daca. And will pledge to take every "lawful measure" to protect daca..
