The country is grinding to a halt. H1-b reform (or maybe not even reform we don't know the details) isn't high on the priority list. Unless someone's been talking about broad immigration reform but knowing the people that have access to Trump, that broad immigration reform is probably the 4 pillars + no birthright citizenship.

The impact of the shutdown is going to get exponentially worse if it isn't fixed today. For God sake make the deal.
only good part of h1 reform is more weightage to US educated students over foreigner. but they are going to put more restrictions on H1 and also taking away spouse EAD granted by Obama. some poor h1 people have to spend their whole life in backlog and will never see a green card. Miller at work and Drumf is clueless as usual. this admin is crap.

What will SCOTUS discuss during closed door conference this morning? A LOT. Daca, transgender military ban, LGBT rights, Indiana’s blocked abortion law, Ny gun restrictions and more. We could get grants as early as today. Ginsburg likely to vote by proxy.

Your degree of fact checking is admirable and I have no objections or comments.

I assume that the immigration courts cant deport and does that also mean the supreme court cant take daca??

Fyi - right now #SCOTUS is meeting to decide if they'll grant the Admin's request to hear case(s) on ending #DACA. Admin's been clear they're doing this to create more leverage for a bad immigration deal. The court shouldn't do Trump's bidding on harming 800,000 young lives.

The supreme court will always be funded. Immigration courts issue deportation orders but I think ICE handles the actual dirty work. If immigration courts aren't working on cases, it means deportation orders or approval orders are not being issued.

Me: "Quick question. What happens if they decide not to hear the DACA case?
What are your thoughts do you think they will take the case?"

Source:"If they don't take it, the court rulings against Trump remain in place and the government could go back to the drawing board"

Me:"I see a lot of people saying they are reviewing Trump trying to expedite the case. If it is declined does that mean There will be no court ruling at all unless the trump administration decides to do something else? or will the court later take the case?"

Source:"the court could still take it up at a later date when more of the lower courts have ruled on it ... or Trump could go back and issue a new rescission decision that follows correct procedures"

GOP Sens. Portman and Moran introduce bill that has $25 billion in border security in exchange for temporary protections for Dreamers (Democrats, obviously, do not support this)
