What does Trump have to do with Dems giving 55 miles of wall for nothing? They could just give 0 and force Trump to counter.
Fencing ≠ Wall

The rest are security measures that had bipartisan support to begin with. He can't accuse them of being "open borders" without looking like an even bigger imbecile (if that's even possible).

We're not getting a DACA fix and he isn't getting his wall or any of the proposed changes to immigration his white trash nationalist base is so eager for.

The best that can come out of all of this is it costs him reelection, we survived his first term and get indefinite DACA.

I was also furious last night when Cenk from TYT said that the Democrats got a good deal. What he and some of you guys do not get is that Trump and the Republicans can spin this any way they want. They still got money for some type of a barrier... Whether it is steel slats, fencing, concrete wall and etc... You cannot give the guy over a billion dollars for some type of a barrier and then say that you got a win. They should have counter offered the Dream ACT for the wall after the government was open. They will now pass the Dream ACT in the House and watch it die in the Senate. SAD

Yes he's in a unique position to spin anything as a "win", but that only works on his base. They hang on to his every word like it's gospel.

Dems can't offer DA, he'd never agree to it, he spent months gaslighting the public on a DACA fix and offered nothing reasonable each time. At some point you have to come to terms with this.

I'm not saying giving Trump a border wall/fence is good or not. I'm just trying to speculate if Trump will accept it or not.
They offered 1.6B in border security funding, 0 miles of fence...
New bill has 23B in DHS funding, 55 miles of fence ~ 1.35B
Stop watching msnbc

DHS funding was always included....DHS funding is a requirement or DHS doesn't operate. You're acting like Dems weren't going to fund DHS?

yeah i get that part. its was for 1.375 bil which is what they do every year to replenish funds for DHS, CBP, and ICE to operate.

less than the initial 1.6 bil agreed to in December and way less from the 5.7 bil Trump wanted but how come there was 55 miles of new wall? not sure whats going on.

anyone care to clarify?

The 1.375 isn't for DHS funding, it's for bollard fending, the same type that is on the border already.
