The Republicans can't pass anything without democratic support in the house. There won't be a scenario where dems vote yes to a republican bill and hope that republicans will votes yes to their bill after.

There's so much crap going on politically (trade war, subpoenas, etc) any immigration reform is going to have to be in a must pass bill or after 2020 election.

I have no idea how much support Trump has from voting latinos but if he believe he's lost latino support, the rational thing is to do something good (like helping out dreamers, which at the same time takes the issue away from dems in the 2020 election). It doesn't look like he's doing any of that though and immigration policies are becoming more hard line. There's news today that Nielsen & the previous ICE director didn't want to implement Miller's policy of go after kids and families for deportation but now both of them are gone.

Nothing about DACA This is DoA. Democrats won't accept any immigration package because they need that for 2020 election. Nothing will be done for us until 2021, 2022 at best.

We are a bunch of losers and beggars to them.
