That's what we don't know. Can and would SCOTUS suspend DACA until it hears the case, and would that mean submitted renewals would be processed?

I still predict that there is a non-trivial chance #SCOTUS GVRs the DACA cases after the census case is decided, and holds that courts failed to afford appropriate level of deference to agency.

My understanding is that SCOTUS could strike down the lower court ruling that is keeping DACA on life support.
Quote:
GVR: When the court “GVRs,” it “grants certiorari,” “vacates” the decision below and “remands” a case to the lower court without hearing oral argument or deciding the case on the merits. A GVR order is not accompanied by a written opinion addressing the merits of the case, but the court usually provides some direction to the lower court by, for example, instructing it to reconsider its decision in light of a recent decision by the Supreme Court.

Last week, the court refused to expedite consideration of another DACA appeal. Maybe the government's motion served a purpose in reminding the justices that the other appeals have been gathering dust in the clerk's office since January

I predict that the case will be taken up.
If they take the case before recess we may see a vote in the fall.
If they take it in the fall we will see a vote in the spring.

Either way the case will be taken up so i rather it be done sooner than later. If it is ruled in mid 2020 election we probably wont get anything at all, and right now we have the asylum "crisis going for us".
We may not have that next year and Democrats will have ZERO leverage.

The longer we wait the less leverage we have.

Terms are from october to june?
If it is, wouldnt SCOTUS have to take up the DACA case so it will be in the next term if not would we have to wait until fall term 2020?

Theytukerrrjobs @TolchinImm
SCOTUS will still take up cases to be considered before June 2020 when it returns from recess is late September
