My guess is that it'll be:
- 5-4 decision
- worst case scenario, SC will provide 3-6 months then rescind DACA in order for a possibility of Congress doing something.

What I'm wondering, would Congress even do anything?

Nothing has ever been done.

Next year is Election 2020, and not to mention Trump may end up in Senate trials for the entire year, if he is impeached.

How would anything get done.

Anyone who believes a sensible solution is guaranteed after SCOTUS sides with Trump and DACA is rescinded is a damned fool. Congress does not give a shit about us and has never functioned. They have had many, many chances and nothing has ever happened. All these "solutions" will have to go through Miller. In the end the right will want some nationalist agenda-pushing plan like the Goodshit Bill. Same shit, different toilet.

You still wanna go on Fox News, bend over, and support the Trump admin so you can get yours one more time? Why don't you just leave? Fool.

I do not believe there will be a sensible solution in Congress (I hope I'm wrong), hence why I prefer DACA to stay. Unfortunately, if an EO is made by one president and the next president can't remove that EO, it doesn't make any sense.

However, if you have deportation of dreamers on an election year with 60%+ public opinion (some as high as 80%+), then it's going to be a bad time for republicans. A deadline to deal with DACA in an election year does not favor republicans if they want to get a lot of concessions from democrats. Maybe SC will push the deadline to solve the issue past 2021, who knows.

I agree and hope this becomes the reality if this turns for the worst. A bridge act or stop gap measure of sorts would be the best.

If it is left up to the Trump administration, they can just avoid deporting any DACA peeps. Just basically let them live in the shadow and then come after them when they see fit.

Basically SCOTUS rules for Trump, and then Trump leaves us alone for now until he sees a convenient window to start deporting little by little.
