Just now:
@SenatorDurbin
and
@SenMikeLee
announce on the Senate floor that they have a deal on #S386/#HR1044 but aren't bringing it up for a vote until they can be sure they have the buy-in from bill co-sponsors and other senators.

Lee says he's "very confident that this is something that we can get passed into law," while Durbin admits that his RELIEF Act isn't politically viable right now.

The compromise bill would allow for early adjustment applications for immigrants (allowing job portability, travel, etc. while waiting for a green card), protect children from aging out, reserve green cards for overseas applicants, and make changes to the #H1B program.

Seriously. How is this not amnesty? I don't get why this is ok, but not DACA/DREAM Act...

How can a brother get in on this amnesty? I have absolutely no problem working as a librarian during the evenings - at the local community college.

Why are you happy about that? Oh that’s right you’re against Dreamers. Don’t celebrate yet, Dreamers are next to be legalized. Go Dreamers!

Why don’t you believe in climate change? Your post clearly shows you don’t. Believe it or not; temperatures are rising and if we don’t clear our mess up. 2030 will be the point of no return.

Paying Taxes doesn't mean we should get anything other than a tax refund, at best.

Congratulations to our liberian brothers for pulling off what we couldn't do for 19 years. Yes, indeed we probably still are extremely politically radioactive.

If its not seen as a doable item from the republican team, we are still politically radioactive.

Once the courts strike down DACA, then congress MUST absolutely take action to help us out. It is only right. Not for us, fuck us, for the companies and USCs that have hired us to work, for all the tax dollars spent educating us.

We will probably have to wait for Mitch McConnel to retire from the senate to see any Democrat controlled house legislation make it anywhere. Mitch is our current block. Trump can be swayed with the smoothest words from the right people.

Ivanka Trump can possibly ask her daddy to put this legislation through to protect her swarthy young Mexican gardener Eduardo.

Next chance for us to get anywhere is after the 2020 election, IF trump doesnt win. If he wins then we are looking at 2024 being the next chance.
