Like it or not NPCs, Trump is doing more for us right now than the democraps, finally bringing urgency to the situation once and for all to get this solved. Tired of living 2 years at a time.

Im ready to cover any fees necessary and to vote republican for the rest of my life.

Inb4 mad.

I think best case scenario would be a wide ruling from the Supreme Court that would classify the program as illegal and Dems win the presidency, senate and house. This way, come January, there’s no revocation of Trump’s order and no extension of DACA available. The only options would be a legislative fix or deportation.

Worst case scenario has anything to do with trump being re-elected. If you think he played hardball before imagine how he’ll be coming off of re-election.

Anyway, throw these immigration deal articles in trash. There’s no way in hell they’ll be an immigration bill in the summer before the election. Regardless of a wide or narrow ruling, Trump will do nothing this summer and the program ends in January. But he’ll be able to campaign on ending DACA

Who knows what is going to happen

But we are already starting to see similar political patterns appear. Trump will end DACA to appeal to his base. Democrats will start the all or no one nonsense and we will be the ones that will end up paying the price.

Hope you all have some really good plan Bs if you have the luxury of being able to gtfo of this country.

Campaigning on ending DACA is foolish though. It has 60% support with republicans and even higher among democrats.

At this point it's very hard to see the African American community favoring Trump. On top of that, young voters and new voters seem energized. These things are what brought Obama to office. Old school republicans are not supporting him.

My weird take is that these riots are getting this bad mainly because of high unemployment due to the Coronavirus. People are out of work and angry, it's the same reason why people protested for the states to re-open.

His re-election highly depends on the economy and it's not looking very good. Even after the Coronavirus passes (which won't happen for a long time, longer now because protests spread the virus), there will be huge debt bubbles and people won't be able to pay. I read somewhere that the majority of American doesn't even have $400 in emergency funds. A $1200 check one time isn't going to do much.

He's attacked hispanics ("bad hombres", called them rapists), then asians (coronavirus, and I realize it's China specifically but people can't tell the difference between someone from China vs korea / japan / eastern Asian countries and on top of that the contention is with the Chinese government, not Chinese people in America so all asians are discriminated against), now he's dealing with issues with the African American community.

So the easiest pill to swallow for Trump's base right now would be appealing to the hispanic community, mainly because it's the most distant memory out of the 3. He needs hispanic voters and in order to appeal to the hispanic voters, DACA is really the best way to do it when he can't do much else. The most important thing is, he needs to actually offer a good and honest deal or the democrats will shit on him. He can say he's not a racist and point to this exact policy to back up his claim which will win back minority votes, not just hispanic ones. Honestly dream act + 5 billion for boarder security is even a good deal if he wants to get re-elected.

If you recall, right before the 2018 election he sent the national guard / military to the boarder to stop the "caravans". They lost the House by a lot. Being against immigrants in this ruthless way is not the play. If Trump goes hard on immigration again this election year by holding DACA hostage with what's going on this past week, it will not be good.

Before the Coronavirus I thought Biden would lose. But Trump... 2 days for executive order when twitter fact checked him, a few days to use DPA to produce meat, but then weeks? I'm not even sure he used DPA to make much needed PPE... and the lack of action until April....it's difficult to justify. If "it's just the flu" but if it's "just the flu" why blame China? No country reports the "flu" to other countries because the "flu" is not a big deal. Arguably it's good China downplayed their numbers if it's just the "flu" so people don't panic. Why shut down the Country if it's just the "flu". If it's more serious than just the "flu" why not take action earlier than April.... he took action so much faster when Twitter fact checked him. Either way you cut it, it doesn't look good.

Trump's advisors and Miller are being foolish or they're auditioning for their next job. Whatever they're doing they're not giving their best advice for him to be re-elected.

I don't watch cable news in general.

It's hard to imagine MSNBC / CNN saying protests spread coroavirus or to blame Trump's advisors rather than Trump or say Biden would've lost.

If my train of thought is wrong, feel free to point it out.

Sorry, but passing immigration legislation a couple months before an election is impossible.

I don't think it's impossible, it's just harder now. I was fairly sure Trump was going to win pre-coronavirus. There's still time left for a few major policies but if he's going hard on immigration again, it won't work in his favor as the 2018 election has shown plus it'd be worse now with the current protests going on.

If I were his advisor I'd say go all in on infrastructure. It appeals to blue collar workers and will bring in a lot of jobs to get the economy going again in their state. The result is a much needed infrastructure upgrade which he can brag about and brag about a up-trending economy with a down-trend in unemployment. He's got to do it fast though, otherwise the economic effects won't show up before election time.
