Possible outcomes of Hanen ruling in the coming weeks:
-order full hearing on the case
-issue a ruling that DACA is either lawful or unlawful
-Dismiss case

What could happen of Hanen rules that DACA was unlawful? What kind of appeals or recourse could DACA take in order for its survival?

Feels like relieve is so close but yet so far away. I was reading in another article that :

"The hearing Tuesday is a continuation of a 2018 lawsuit brought against the federal government by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and eight other states that have argued that they will face irreparable harm if the program is allowed to continue. The states have argued that they bear extra costs from providing health care, education and law enforcement protection to DACA recipients, according to the original complaint."

Is Hanen ruling that DACA is unlawful because we bear an extra costs on states?

Texas is saying they have the standing to bring the Daca case because it brings extra costs to the state. The argument is unlawful is because of the executive and legislative branches of power. Only congress has the power to implement a program like daca.

The easiest solution, all dreamers move to daca friendly states. Texas would lose standing.

I am so freaking tired of all these court cases against DACA. We can’t have even one month of peace without some BS lawsuit.

Ex-

head León Rodríguez said an unfavorable ruling for Dreamers could spur action on DACA—which he called a "Band-Aid"

"It could bring about what needs to happen anyway—which is that Congress & the executive branch need to take responsibility for the issue of the Dreamers"

Must be an unfavorable ruling considering they timing of a lot of renewals. Just seems suspect.

Congress can barely agree on a COVID relief for American Citizens, it would be delusional to think they are going to rush in and help us when they left American Citizens hanging for 9 months, meanwhile they were losing their homes, cars, healthcare, etc.

I don’t expect Congress to be sympathetic to us if we lose the court case. Although my feeling is that Hagen will NOT rule against us.
