Not really, can't exactly have a stay if there's no appeal, because what are you waiting for?

5th circuit likely won't rule in our favor so that only leaves the Supreme Court and there it's hope that Gorsuch and Roberts side with us.

Either that or they'll do some partial ruling and kick it back to Hanen and it'll keep bouncing back like this for all eternity.

Look on the bright side.. Hanen ignored the states request to end the DACA program in 2 years. It is what it is.

Do you think they will strike down renewals? Or affirm Hanen's opinion in totality leaving the administration to appeal to SCOTUS?

I wanted to be hopeful about renewals remaining intact since they didn't strike down the stay to begin with.

Honest to God, I'm just hoping they leave renewals in place so that we can at least eke out another renewal around election time.

What was different about this lawsuit? If SCOTUS had already ruled how do they keep having standing? It's like that gerrymandering case where cons just keep breaking the law and disobeying SCOTUS.

You've had DACA for 11 yrs.
Do something about it. Organize for a permanent solution like registry. There is political momentum.

bruh, if you think the dems are going to grow a spine on record level crossings where even dem voters are buying the "immigrants bad" kool-aid in a reelection year, I got some news for you.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they dragged this decision for so long to land on election year. Now dems will get hammered for "not fixing DACA" by us/allies and for "talking amnesty for illegals during record crossings and surging inflation" by dishonest actors.

They may even fast track this to SCOTUS to strike DACA down to exert mas pressure of the above narrative.

There are not enough votes to pass any major bill, especially in a right-wing-controlled house.. Unless a party is able to get the house, senate with 60+ votes, and WH; then nothing has a chance at passing.
