Hello all,

I am currently in the midst of interviewing for my dream job. The project engineer manager is interested in me, and if God allows, then I will get hired by them. The only thing is that they have projects all around the world, and I was asked during the interview if I was able to travel aboard. I explained to them that since the president had cancelled DACA, that I wouldn't be able to apply for AP, only being eligible to travel within the US. However, I told them that I was in the middle of adjusting my status, I even showed them the biometrics appointment letter.

So then I thought about it, and I would like for someone to tell me if I could apply for AP once I receive my new EAD (I-485 pending) to be able to travel abroad for work purposes, or should I not even attempt to travel abroad until I get my GC?

I'd like to say that my AOS case is pretty straight forward. I was inspected when I arrived to the US using a Visa, applied for DACA, I don't have criminal cases of any kind, married my high school sweetheart after dating 6 years, and just now going through the AOS through marriage process.

Thank you.

Question for those that have gone through the interview process... How did you dress? Business casual? It can't hurt to dress a little more professionally, right?

I believe you can apply for a travel permit while waiting for your green card. I didn’t, but I believe you can. Ask your lawyer.

I went in wearing a flannel and jeans, I figured that dressing comfortably wouldn't hurt.

Next question...
While doing the AOS via a USC spouse process, requesting AP is optional, right? I have no need/desire to travel out of the US while this is processing, so don't really need AP.

Yes, it is optional and free. It will be multiple entry.

I assume the real question is can an EWI become inspected through an approved AP associated with a pending I-485.

Technically, AP is for those who have a pending I-485 petition within the United States. If one declares they are EWI and simultaneously apply for AP, I have no idea what the outcome would be.
