Receipt date 4/5. expired. 8/17. approved 9/8. EAD went into production9/10. ead produced 9/14. ead mailed 9/20. received 9/21.

Got my call back from a Tier 2. She confirmed my EAD was in production and I should receive it soon (within 30 days) but said they are experiencing a delay in card production and delivery: FYI.

Yea thats the same exact thing that tier 2 told me yesterday except the delay in production. This isnt good

You're employer won't let you work?

Nope the HR dept at work are jerks

I didn't ask. But the Tier 1 did confirm they don't update concurrently. And it was kind of a given from my convo with the T2 that their system is weird because even she was venting about how slow their system is. She also like hanged up super quickly after being super sweet so idk if their line cuts off badly too.

My tier 2 call came thru as well (4.5hrs later). She just tersely said wait- no estimates, no tentative timelines. Heard this enough times now in the pre-approval phase, already.
Did notice that some seem to get intermediate update between card production and card mailing with tracking # and some directly get the update with tracking # on the case tracker. Hope I am in the later bucket, b/c mine's stuck in Card is being Produced since Sep 14.
Think it's truly mailed out when tracking # is available on the case tracker (unless it just silently shows up).
My employer said I have to be taken off the payroll and get rehired when card comes through. I am not too worried abt the rehire or the small gap but the kicker is that I lose 20% of annual pay deferred as year-end "bonus" b/c I am not continuously employed during this gap.

Build large scale systems reliably performing high volume transactions for a living. Maybe I need to reach out to these folks to provide help during the gap.
