Wow, congrats
I am in Virginia as well. I am in the process of applying to law school. I went to a private uni here in Virginia and just graduated. I was granted merit scholarships for undergrad but I don't think I'll be as lucky in law school. I applied to 2 public schools in Virginia but marked that I did not consider myself a VA resident for in-state tuition purposes because my understanding was that I had to be a citizen or green card holder. I thought DACA didn't qualify us. If you got approved I assume I must be mistaken. Can you explain the process to me a bit more? What process did you feel out? thanks and CONGRATULATIONS.

which school do you attend? and what was the process you have to go through to get an in-state tuition?
and also do you think if i applied to colleges like VCU or JMU to transfer, i'll be granted in-state?

Wow that's awesome congratulations to you on so many achievements! this is my second year in college so far. And you are correct, i was classified as out of state at my public school VCU the first semester because I marked what was true, that i am not a us citizen but I got my DACA acceptance and SS number and permit so I said hey I'll just try out the change of domicile form (16 pages) and tell the truth on the form along with a letter detailing my life as an illegal and the financial burden paying out of state is and hope they have a heart...and they did! After 4 days they told me based on my Clear and Convincing evidence I showed that I am a resident of Virginia I am approved for instate which at vcu they call it Virginia residence tuition. VA is getting a lot more slack on us it was even on the news they want to grant all of us in state tuition if we lived here for 3 years! So in your situation in law school dont give up and be pessimistic there has to be a form like the change of domicile hidden online I had to search in the records and registration for mine and you can do it. Its best if you are accepted for DACA though because that ss and license really proves you are not a full blown illegal anymore. hoped i helped!

I attend VCU this is my second year i transferred from a private school. And same as noted above, there was a huge form called eligibility for in state privileges/ change of domicile and i found it online because vcu states they follow the code of virginia which says it is up to the college whether you are eligible for instate based on your evidence proving residency you dont have to be a citizen. I def think you will get accepted for instate esp if you have the daca approval. In addition to the letter I sent a page of copies with my ss number, driving permit, work permit, and student ID and the deed to my parents house and tax forms (you dont have to) and it was fine. VA isnt as strict like i thought and it was def a step of faith in applying, but the worse they can say is no and i doubt they will.

Hello everyone.

Was browsing through the Montgomery College website job hunting and I found that they have a special page giving info about the Maryland Dream Act that came into effect Dec. 6, 2012.

Hope this helps Maryland dreamers!

I've got a quick question!
I'm planning on applying to FAU which is in Boca Raton, Florida. They said they accept Deferred Action applicants for in-state tuition.
The problem I'm facing right now is the fact that they have couple requirements that I'm not able to provide cause. technically, I just got an 'Identity" and never had tax reports or bills on my name (no social). They require to have 12 consecutive months of bills on my name.
So I was wondering if anyone else face the same situation as I do and what are they planning on doing.
