Good news and not-so-good news, finally had our interview two weeks ago in manhattan, forgot to update here (was also kind of waiting for an update, see below). We arrived very early but found they only let you into the building 30 mins before your appointment time. Then after about an hour in the waiting room we finally got called in

The officer seemed pretty nice, if not friendly almost, and about our age even. Went in and right away asked us to stay standing for the oath, then lay any documents/evidence we brought on the table. I was confused and asked if they wanted any of the originals or anything that was already submitted, but the officer said just copies any new documents/evidence, our IDs and birth certificates. Basically during the whole interview didnt ask for any originals, not even my passport with the entry stamp! (i lost i-94 which i explained in the original application). The officer got a bit confused at first about who was who because I had changed my name a few years back, and my wife had also had changed her name years ago

Once we got that cleared, it was pretty basic questions, the officer asked most to my wife (USC). when/how/where did we meet, where was our first date, the address where we live and if we lived together before wedding - that was a little weird because we've lived together for 6 years and submitted evidence showing that.. date of the wedding and where, if we've met each others families, my parents names, if I have siblings, if we have children (we said if cats count and the officer laughed). Then simply started going over the legal questions from i485. While going through those they did ask who was the one married before, kinda seemed like a trick question the way it was asked, we just said neither of us had married before. finished the legal questions and I was expecting more questions or questions about our documents but the officer simply said the interview was complete. i said i had a new medical and they took it. It must've been 20 mins total

the not-so-good news is they simply said it was complete but needed to review the new documents/evidence (which i brought a lot of). The officer asked if we had health insurance together, we dont because it's cheaper on our own through work, but have dental and life together through her job, and asked for this years' tax return, which we filed married join & i included the irs transcript. Gave me a paper that it was held for review, and told me that if they needed anything else i'd get a letter in the mail. Unfortunately the online status still shows 'interview is scheduled' almost 2 weeks later so i guess our case will be one of those that just sits there for a while

The letter does contradict itself. Cuz later on in the first paragraph it says i must present myself at the interview to finilize my petition.

I got an email with a Status Update on my Pending I-485. The email says "Your Case Status: Testing and Interview "

Why testing? At the very bottom it also mentions something about enlgish and civics test for N-400.

When i look up my case in the case tracker it says "Employment Based Interview Was Scheduled"

Im applying via marriage.

Anyone in NYC who filed in March, April, May, June of 2017 get their interview letter yet? I filed in early May but haven't heard anything since my biometrics which happened about 3 months after I mailed my application.

The online status still says 'Fingerprint Fee Was Received' for the 485 and 'Case Was Received' for the 130.
