It almost seems like there is no one in Georgia who attends college here. When anyone asks for info about Georgia schools, it gets drowned out by any other (or so it seems) states that gets mentioned.

Good luck in Georgia. And i lived in Mcdonough, before I moved to Florida. My friend who lives there got denied by the colleges there. Georgia has a ban on allowing undocumented students to get instate tuition.

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum

I am so clueless about all this college stuff

I graduated from High School in FL and now reside in Tx. Is there any chance I can get student aid or in state tuition or some kind of help?

Thanks in advance!

Pd: Just applied for my SS yesterday. I should be getting it in about two weeks.

Great news for Orlando people.

I recently went to FIU hoping to change my status (they allow work permits for instate tuition purposes), and I left very disappointed. Verbatim from the lady I spoke to, since the law is under legislative review, they cannot accept our work permits. And so FIU still considers us out-of-state.

What really? On their website it says you can get instate tuition, with deffered action. Granted you have to wait a year.

According to this lady, we cannot receive instate tuition rates as of now. I wasn't the only one trying to change my status through DACA, and everyone got the same response. The only thing that she was able to do for now was remove the some of the sponsorship requirements that they put on international students, so I'm not sure if that will lower the rates or not. I'll find out what the damage is when I register for summer lol
