I have to say, I think we are very lucky with this. Obama is pushing for immigration reform as well, his ideas are more and more credible. His plans for the economy have worked, the economy is stable now. He is ending the wars as fast as he can...he deserves the nobel prize and the dream act is next.

^^You stole the words right out of my mouth. This is a blessing in disguise for us. Obama's words will carry more WEIGHT. This award has also come in the right time when Health Care Reform is about to pass the full senate and house.

I too am dubious about whether he really deserved this award.

But like people say I think the world depends on him and want to encourage him to do the good job as a world leader.

Anyway I am just waiting for DA to pass for us who need peace of mind living in the States. If Barack does his best and pass this bill, then whether Michelle run for president or his daughters, I vote for them 100% unconditionally in the future elections. (after becoming citizen)

Because, he isn't Bush or a Conservative. Everyone hates the Republican party in the world, and they are happy that he isn't one of them.

Seriously, the only people who seem to still support the republican party are either greedy and/or uneducated people in this country. Oh, and also terrorist because the republicans did more to destroy this country than they could ever do.

Does P. Obama deserve it for any of his accomplishments? No, not really. He is still just initiating things. Does he deserve it for not being President Bush? Yes, and the Nobel Prize committee believes that too.

Also, as you can tell, I may not be fond of Democrats being spineless, but I despise the Republican party. I can't wait for them to become more of fringe party than they already are.

Also, to Guajardo.

1. US troops aren't in Pakistan.

2. There was already a withdraw deal done by President Bush in 2008 for US troops in Iraq to withdraw in 2011. Can't exactly accelerate that.

3. And with respect to Afghanistan, what do you expect? I hate war as much the next person, but do you honestly think we can just leave in a few months? It is a terrible situation, that was caused by 8 years of mismanagement. We have to do something, maybe adding 40,000 troops isn't the best idea, but can Pres. Obama really go against what the general on the ground are saying? Also, I don't think it is right to leave a country where we have promised change for 8 years. What will happen to the girl and women in the country who are finally able to go to school? We just abandon them? Leaving them to fend for themselves is just as bad as going in blindly.
Well, as much as I don't like Republicans (or Democrats for that matter), I personally don't think its a good reason to give him the Nobel Prize... I also think you are stereotyping Republicans. Yeah some of them are extremely ignorant but there are some Democrats that are equally ignorant (and I don't trust any side). I do congratulate Obama for this award because it is a huge deal, we'll just have to see if it will really make a difference and if it will really motivate him or not. I personally thought it was too early but we'll see, we'll see. I still have a few ounces of hope out there that he will do a good job.

But once again, congratulations to Obama.
