Oh yeah... and you people take sides in Republican, and Democrats, which is pointless. both parties dont really care about us.. its all bullcrap, wake up, be gratefyl for the things that we do have, even tho in this situation, a lot of people have it worse, and we are only here because we want to really, we can all go back to where we came from, and do the things we been waiting to do here.

Frustration aside, all this means is that we need to work harder. For us DREAM veterans, this is likely our final stand for DREAM/CIR, and I'm ready to give it one last go. And for those who don't feel a sense of urgency, you will likely be in this very same situation a few years from now so don't let up.

For the New Yorkers on DAP, you can start by holding Schumer accountable for his empty assurances. Light up his lines and inbox! Even if you're not from NY, contact Schumer. If you have relatives in NY, contact Schumer and tell his staff that you and your relatives and/or friends have not forgotten about his frequently-postponed plan to introduce a CIR bill.

For the IL Dreamers (myself included), show your support for Congressman Gutierrez's efforts, even if his bill is not likely to come up for debate.

For all others, contact your reps and senators and ask them to co-sponsor DREAM. Also, if you have a blog or twitter, you need to constantly update it. We need to get viral, and we need to ramp up our social networking / blogging efforts.

If you want to give up because you're too scared that CIR won't pass in an election year, remember that CIR 2006 passed the Senate. Sure, the circumstances were different (particularly Majority Leader Frist's influence among his GOP colleagues), but at least we know it's not impossible.

Yeah yeah.....finally, someone who still see the glass half-full.

Besides, Obama is known more to be committed on immigration than Bush ever was, so all hope is not lost.

My guess is that it is doable.

I see it this way. Democrats will want a path to citizenship.

And the few republicans who do support it ( Like Senator Mccaine) will most likely will only vote for temporary few years worker visa.

And then " path to citizenship" will become the new " public option".

Also do not worry. There will be talks next year even if they are not enogh votes. Many caucasus will push for it, the same way as they pushed for public option.

Lets not forget , it is not just the hispanic votes at stake here. Many other ethincities want for immigration reform to pass. Although maybe few people are undocumented immigrants, many of their family members and relatives are citizens who strongly support it.

Immigration reform is much more important issue that media has covered it to be to politicians.

We have to remember that OBAMA can't really do much about everything here. Obama can't make a law, Obama can't automatically pass a law. This government doesn't work like that. It still has to go through Congress, and they don't want to put it in there if they're unsure if it'll pass...because then we'll all have to wait...AGAIN.
So perhaps they're just making sure that it will have security before they introduce it. It will be for the better instead of being let down once again.
