Even if President Obama is one of the greatest orators, I don't think he will be able to convince any of the cowards who are waiting for their Republican primaries. One good and pathetic example is McCain... He's been all for border security first since his run for presidency as early as in 2007.
Every one of the Republicans facing primaries before the midterm election is turning to the right as much as possible, especially on issues like immigration.

However, I still hope that some of the moderate Republicans who do not face re-elections this year can be convinced to vote for the CIR this year.

Reid says he has 56. Graham and Brown would add 2 more. Crist would vote yes, he is an independant and Mccain would probably a yes too. Don't forget Lugar.
