Oh yes, Colorado is a swing state, for some reason I keep thinking they are conservative. Even if the Senate keeps majority, if the House is given over to the GOP, its going to be really hard to pass Dream Act next congress. Here's hoping the GOP screws up so badly before elections people vote democrat ; /

yes but its it hard for the GOP to screw up on anything when they're not in power. voters look at who's in power (democrats) and blame whoever is in power. we also need to beg everyone that we know to please go register to vote and please go vote democrat in nov 2nd for our sake and for America's sake.

Both Senators Rockefeller and Goodwin and the Governor Manchin are all democrats. But the republican candidate is currently leading in the polls by a little bit. Colorado is not a conservative state but is a swing state. Republican candidate Ken Buck the tea partier (for getting rid of department of education and anti-amnesty) is leading in the polls against a democratic candidate Michael Bennett. In Illinois, republican candidate Mark Kirk is leading in the polls against the democratic candidate Alex Giannoulias for the race for Obama's old senate seat. So, besides Delaware, in WV, colorado, and Illinois, all democrats are all trailing in the polls.
lmao.

The first step should be to sit down with any wavering, or potential supportive Republicans. Getting a few votes from them is the key to passing the DREAM Act

Only the senators from Illinois, WV and Delaware will be seated during the lame duck session. Ken Buck and the other have to wait till the new year before they can be sworn in.

The winners of two other Senate elections, in Florida and Colorado, will be seated at the beginning of the new Congress on Jan. 3, according to officials in those states. That means Sens. George LeMieux, R-Fla., and Michael Bennet, D-Colo., will serve out the lame-duck session.

The reason a few senators will be sworn in early is that the races are "special" elections, held to replace vacancies that are now being filled by temporary, appointed senators. The third seat up for a special election is in Colorado, due to Senator Ken Salazar becoming Secretary of the Interior in Obama's cabinet.
