congress hasn't worked on christmas day or on the new years day for as long as i've been alive.. all you need to know is that they will be back for a lame duck session for about a month so if you have time to make up ridiculous predicitions or worry about when the actual target adjournment date is, go make the extra call or write an email or go watch the news or go take a political science class.

yea because every single congressmen and congresswomen and all of their family members they all live in washington dc right..? its not like they can just walk down a block to their house and celebrate holiday and walk right back to work the next morning.. its not just 2 days.. they take planes and there are flight delays all the time and its not scheduled so that a senator is going to have to arrive in his/her home state in the morning and get back on the plane that same evening so that they will barely have any family time..

lmao. I am still trying to figure out how we had 62 votes guaranteed, but the Dream act is still in limbo. DA User, please predict that Dream Act won't pass. Since your predictions never come true, maybe that prediction won't come true as well.

Obama is such a useless president that hearing another one of his speeches just makes me sad that the nation got played like this.

His economic ideas are economically unsound, his socially advantageous ideas will most likely do more bad than good, and his presidential backbone is completely lacking.

The office of the president should be abused for God's sake. That's why you try to get elected president; so you have some greater political and social authority and are able to put some serious pressure on Congress. If you want to do nothing and just make useless speeches than just fucking stay a senator and filibuster the hell out of every bill. When Bush had a plan, whether good or bad, he just put it into action. No "buts" or "ifs", he just made it happen. It's disappointing that he got completely ridiculed at the end and didnt have much of a political backing left at the end, otherwise we might have been able to salvage the 2007 bill.

What happened to "I Will Do Whatever It Takes" to pass the DREAM Act?
