Ok so youre saying because theres a 3 year ban once you turn 18 and a half, that along should be reason enough why everyone should have known better when they turned 18 and decided on whether they should have gone back home or not. Right? is that what you're saying?


Well if that's what youre saying, let me tell you this; A lot of people didn't know about the ban when they were 18. A lot of people still dont even know about the bans. A lot of people didnt realize their REAL situation until way over 18. And like MiGster said there before, some people may have had it all figured out, but a lot of other people consider THIS country their home. Its just ridiculous for someone to say that within 6 months of them turning 18 (especially when most people didnt know the full extent of their situation) they ought to live up to "resposibility" and make a life changing decision.



PS. Let me also add that I see your point on the "law" but if we were to base our morals and rationalities on laws every single time and never question their effect in different scenarios, we wouldn't be here fighting for the DREAM Act because the law says were all just a bunch of illegals period.

lmao Dukem88, stop digging for things that aren't there. When you turn 18 years old it is your choice to stay here or not, even if you didn't know about the ban, you know that you are still out of status. Everyone has their own reasons to stay or go. I was responding to dado's comment that :

At 18 no one is forcing you to stay anywhere. The Dream Act i think is more about giving those to were brought here as children a chance at a life in this country.

yup.. at the age of 35+ when they had a whole family already and lived in poverty countries. Not at the age of 18.

No where in my posts on this thread did i say anyone was stupid for staying, I said it was your choice once you turned 18, because at the end of the day, no matter what the situation, it was. You decided that you are better off here therefore this was the option you chose. Stop looking at what i have when i go back and stick to what I'm saying on this thread.

You know what... syds right. It was our choice to stay here at 18 and hence its our fault were illegal adults now.

You are reading into something that isnt there. If i thought you were stupid i would say so, after all it's a bit obvious i say what i think no matter what. Saying i have more to gain when i leave is talking about what i have when i go back. Yes, i have said it is harder for those who have been here since babies to go back, but it still doesn't change that fact that at 18, we are able to make our own decisions. The poster who i was replying to said that we were forced to stay here, and i just pointed out that at 18, no one can force us to stay. Even if i didn't have anything to go back to i would still leave because i don't see a future here for me the way things are. When i decided to leave i didn't think about what i had when i was going back, i thought about what i wanted for myself in the future.
