Dude, you are so smart, just because you went to college, you feel smart don't ya, lol

I always wanted this to happen, let it pass.

People need to stop being so damn lazy and learn the main language of this country.

Why does this happen? because everything is made easier for us Hispanics. Almost everything is in Spanish! I was riding the bus the other day and the automatic announcer kept on speaking Spanish. It really is just pathetic. If it were up to me, I would cancel Univision and Telemundo. HA

I like the busty actresses on some of the Univision on some shows, so don't go calling for a cancellation. The U.S. used to have things published in multiple languages, like German in San Antonio, but they did away with that when we went to war with them. I wonder how things would be different, if at all, if we continued to publish everything in multiple languages after the 40's. My good friend is teaching recent arrivals from Latin countries in a High School math class and they're able to pick up the jargon pretty quickly. I don't understand though, if the citizenship test is only given in English, why is the bill necessary. Can someone correct me on this?

Yes dude appearently going to college is the only way you can learn how to speak English *rolls eyes* If you have lived almost your whole life here in the states and can't speak English still, then that just tells everyone how lazy you are and don't take this nation serious.

Yes, obviously you're not. Then again, obvious troll is obvious troll. Back on topic, this bill will probably be stopped dead in it's tracks.

I think there would've been less hate toward immigrants, legal or illegal, from Americans if all immigrants spoke English. I hear from my American friends how they hate all these Asians who took over their neighborhoods. All businesses are in Chinese, everyone on the streets speak, yell in Chinese, all seats in trains are taken by Chinese who yell from one end to another that one can develop a headache during the ride. And 90% of them don't speak a word of English. I'm sure same can be applied to Spanish in some neighborhoods, and to other ethnic groups throughout the country. One of my friend was stopped in Miami once and he couldn't understand what cop was telling him. He lived in Miami few years and he had to learn some Spanish as nobody spoke English in his neighborhood.
I'm sure that there will be way less hate toward all us if most of immigrants spoke English. I spoke with my landlord once about it. She came from Puerto Rico years ago. She learned English but still makes some mistakes and has strong accent. But she never felt any hate toward her. I feel how some Americans change in their face when they hear my accent. I can feel tension right away.
My take is English-only is a good law. If one goes to another country he should respect it, language especially. I think it wil help us more then hurt us.
