I suppose, I am not being condescending. I just want to make people think like the human beings that they are. People tend to glorify lawyers, accountants, doctors etc. The truth is that they are just like anyone else, at least most of them. Of course, there are some very knowledgeable and respected but the people who are trying to just take advantage of dreamers are not.

If they really were that great, they would not bother... they would be pretty busy handling more serious cases that would give them more money etc...

For example, pretend I am an EE and can fix your Ipad. False electrical engineers often have no idea of how to even change a light bulb haha. True Story!

People who are lawyers will lie and do anything to get your money. They are like those tax filers who provide a meaningless services and take advantage of the ignorant.

I am not saying that there are no good laywers. For example TXgirl is an aspiring one. I would trust her but I just want people to be careful.

Sorry, what I say probably does not make sense... to many

I am trying to study and lurk around here at the same time... it is 12 30 and had no sleep

I am nocturnal

Wow, how old are you? This is a very good reply; informed and mature. Let me start by disclosing, which I think I've posted before, that I work in healthcare in one of the riskiest medical practices; one which I believe has one of the top malpractice insurance rates for its practicing surgeons, and the fact that many have the suffix "MD" does not by any extent of the word mean they are any good, professional, caring or - this is the most important- competent. Many see patients just as another number to deal with for which they try get paid as much as they can and the same goes for lawyers.

The difference between both practices is that doctors hold a higher ethical bar (no pun intended). Also, doctors, unlike lawyers, DO NOT get licensed if they do not know how to practice. A third-rate attorney can pass his/her state bar exam and have the worst analytical skills. Lastly, let me end this semi-rant by telling a true story: One of the MDs -a surgeon - was pushed out of the hospital not very long ago for prescribing narcotics to her patient's husband. With whom she started an affair. And she went to Harvard.

Thanks, I am 23. I must admit I am not so much mature. I have just learned a few things here in there. Mainly have to do with science . You reach a certain point when you meet really intelligent people (i.e mathematicians, physicists etc...) Some of their broader perspectives about nature stick, this way of thinking applies to life in general... hence situations like these. People just have to chill!

In the end the Sun will explode and the earth it self with it. After that happens ... 1+1/4 + 1/9 + 1/25 + 1/36 + 1/49 +... +... will still be (Pi^2)/6

Marco Rubio is a lawyer isn't he?

haha your comment reminds me of my dermatologist!!! She just used to prescribe me pills like crazy!!! haha she did get rid of my acne though, and she is HOT! Some scary moments though, I thought I was going to die.

Well, I am a girl/woman and women doctors can be very catty. But sadly, many MDs, men and women, go the easy route with their patients and give out RXs like candy, rather than try the non-medication route first as this involves patient education and behaviour monitoring and obviously is more time consuming to them.

Glad to hear that your derm was able to help. I believe there are newer treatments that involve non-invasive lasers for acne removal; however, they are v.expensive. I've totally deviated from the main topic and I do have to work tomorrow, so logging off now.

While I agree with the general gist of the conversation, I think it is pretty brutal to compare doctors to lawyers, considering a large portion of the second group basically preys on the first one.

The litigious nature of our society has brought the average cost of malpractice insurance to amounts as ridiculous as $200,000+/year in certain states, and in many cases the more you get involved the higher your premium. Most specialized doctors are virtually guaranteed to encounter several malpractice lawsuits in their careers, and I am not surprised they eventually start hating every patient the moment they walk through the door.

I've read somewhere that using a free clinic or going someplace where there will be a lot of Dreamers signing up means that their applications will be sent in a few days later (which can translate to a few weeks more waiting due to back log). This makes sense since I can't imagine them being able to go through everyone's case and sending it out within a day.
