You've gotta be a troll because someone on the Dream Act forum can't possibly want Romney, the guy who promised not just once but several times to veto the Dream Act to win and the guy who threw a lifeline to 100's of thousands of people waiting for the dream act to lose. Nobody can possibly be that stupid otherwise.

I love it when internet guys try to get a complicated issue and narrow it down to one catchy phrase. Whether it's truthful or not doesn't matter.

I don't remember him saying "I promise to pass immigration reform". Nobody can promise to do something they don't have full control over. After the uproar that happened after healthcare reform and the economy not picking up, he didn't have the support of congress anymore.

Did I want him to pass immigration reform before trying healthcare reform? well, of course, but I wasn't elected the president. He was. To him, that was a personal matter and first on his agenda. Maybe if he was Latino it would have been first on his priority which begs the question of why Latinos vote Republican when they know they'll never have a chance to be in a position of real power under the GOP and have a voice.

Maybe this time around immigration is first on his agenda. I hope it is, but I'd pick him every single time over the guy who has promised not to do anything. Speaking of doing something, do you qualify for DACA? If so, your entire argument (if it's really an argument) is null. Ask the 100,000 people who have applied for DACA whether it has changed their lives.

And by the way, During the Bush years, every month I would hear of a workplace raid where they would be carting off mothers and fathers many with their kids still in school. That was stopped for the most part unless someone was just absolutely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Secure Communities doesn't bother me because if you're arrested for getting in a fight, robbing a store, or being a drunk, you don't deserve to be here and make the rest of us look bad.

if you feel that passionate that Romney will do something then...call immigration and tell them you made a mistake by applying for DACA and your willing to self deport.....They will gladly remove your application and sent it to ICE...despite Obama not keeping his promises..like all politicians do..You are applying for a program that he created....its not the perfect solution for us but we will continue to fight no matter who is president... be thankful for that....I hope your joking or something....

Valid argument. Fair. I respect that.

My issues with Romney are that he does not PRESENTLY say that he will help non-DREAMERS, and he is a flip-flopper. So, trusting him when he says that helping DREAMERS is a priority is a big issue.

Guys, look. I know many of you have a personal/emotional thing against Obama. But, in this case, you have to prioritize your strategic interests; all those side arguments that "he said this but failed to deliver/did DACA for political gain" should be meaningless here. I can guarantee you that even Romney will not get anything done on immigration within two years if he becomes president. No way in hell can Romney, the perceived moderate in his party, rally the ultra rightists behind an "amnesty plan" or even a permanent solution for DREAMERS (federal legislators are not as opend-minded and pragmatic as state legislators, so Romney is smoking a joint with Alice in Wonderland when he assumes that can charm the left and right to pass comprehensive immigration reform). That being said, we are in A WORLD OF SHIT after two years of Romney's hypothetical presidency. Our best option for our strategic interests is Obama: he supports CIR/DREAM Act; you will be allowed to renew your work permit after two years if he cannot get anything done on CIR. If Romney wins, E-verify is fully implemented to every employment sector, Secure Communities becomes rigid, and Romney fails to deliver a permanent solution (very likely), good luck trying to survive as an undocumented immigrant.

As I said to a friend of mine before, "Just because you got a bucket of ice when you ordered strawberry ice cream doesn't mean you should dig right into a bowl of shit."
