Yeah, sure. But it would be much nicer if my mom can get her papers at the same time that I do. If the 2010 version of DA passes, she'd have to wait around at least 13 years for me to petition for her. She's already dying to go home and visit her aging mother. Ain't nobody waiting 13 years for me to become a USC.

I can forego DA in favor of CIR.

Of course. We all want CIR/DA to pass soon. I was just giving out an option. It would be a last resort though. Still better than no light in the tunnel.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Wednesday that immigration reform is "very high" on his list of post-election priorities, and that Republicans could block it at their own "peril."
Reid's absolutely right. If the Republicans block any more efforts of immigration reform, they know that they're basically obliterating their chances of ever getting the latino vote, which ultimately means they have a much lower chance at getting a Repub. President elected. They've driven themselves into a ditch, and the recent election will serve as a stern reminder of it.

Obamacare passed during the lame duck session of last congress. So they can and have pushed pretty strong/controversial bills during lame duck sessions.

My crystal ball says CIR will be on table around June of next year.

Are you sure that Obamacare passed in Lame Duck?

I think CIR/DA passes in February of 2013.

This. Republicans risk losing Latinos for an entire generation. They won't take it there.

I looked it up and I was wrong. It passed Senate on Christmas Eve of 2009 not 2010. so you're right.

my crystal ball only looks at the future and not the past.
