I love how he hinted that we could "get married" to become citizens... Not even citizenship can lure me into getting married.
You're ok with having to jump so many hoops to possibly get to citizenship? I agree with you on the marriage thing though lol. That's more work than we would have to do with this achieve act.

I don't think any of us are really dying for citizenship. As long as we can work and travel freely while we wait for citizenship, I think that's okay. As he pointed out, this program doesn't stop you from gaining citizenship any other way. Marriage and employment are still available.

Also in some cases, your green card holding parents can file for you and when they become citizens, your status will also change automatically. I'm banking on this for my citizenship.

Yeah you're right about the citizenship part. I'm good with a green card. With all those visas under the achieve act, would we be able to travel?

I wouldn't mind getting citizenship through work, but marriage?! I could of gotten married two years ago and have gotten a green card that way. I shouldn't have to do it that way.

I don't see my parents becoming citizens.. ever.. lol They want my sister and I to get our papers in order and they want to move back to Argentina. If given the opportunity, they would definitely apply for residency but mostly they just want my sister and I to be ok here.

A Republican will be a Republican. They're attempting to pass something "humane" but it's still all BS, in my opinion. They have yet to work with Democrats on a bi-partisan immigration relief effort.

Obama will not have this. If there is anyone backing up Dreamers to gain citizenship ASAP, it's him.

Also, WTF do we need a Visa for?! We need and DESERVE permanent legal residency, not a path to it... we've been on a "path" to it for way too long. AND they are dropping the age to 28. It's a crock of sh*t!

What are everyone's thoughts on this??
Yep, we are not getting any younger.

Good points.

Both sides (for and against this bill) make good points. I really would not give a damn in the end. Just get something permanent done.

I like it! I hope it passes. Anything to get the ball rolling will help. I'd rather have some kind of visa than no visa at all. This is great for those who qualify!

They change the minimum age to 14. I'm not supporting it.

This really sucks. And, I hope it is something that can be changed in negotiations . . .
