You have a reputation for predicting stuff so I hope your intuition is accurate.

Yes sir..but there's a substance behind my prediction as well. The reason I think its going to happen very early in 2013 is because Obama wants to secure his legacy before he leaves office. He would not only want to pass CIR but also expose its effects on the US economy before all his critics. We have maintained and so has Obama that CIR would be a boon to the economy. The earlier they pass CIR, the quicker we'll see its effects.

Happy New Year, everyone. Here's hoping that CIR finally materializes; people get a second chance; families cease to be split and hopefully the new yr will see me on the long road ahead to med school.

If anything this would be way more controversial than immigration, IMO the general public is going to be less hysterical about handing out temporary visas vs. getting their guns taken away (good luck.)

The only reason they brought up gun control is because of the recent psychos which happens every now and then, and they need something better to say than "Actually we can't really do anything about predicting or stopping people from going on shooting rampages"
I 100% agree. Take a look at gun sales after the Newtown shooting. One gun shop in Georgia was sold out of all of their automatic rifles the next day. Their best sellers were the ones similar to the ones used in the massacre.

They interviewed buyers and all of them said they were getting the guns because they are afraid of gun control being enacted.

My sentiments exactly man. Deferred Action is good..but it is not enough! They must deal with the adults now and they will.

I agree that they will make a huge move early in the year, the gun control agenda is going to be a long and torturous affair legislatively, it'll probably generate as much emotions as the healthcare reform of 2009-2010. Rather, I predict immigration reform will probably be secured by the first half of the year as the article predict, I don't see anything as of yet to stop it, and if it is somehow stopped in the house by the teapublicans( And the probability for that is also getting much lower), the registry could still very easily be rolled out.

So....should I still apply for deferred action if it is a possibility that CIR or the DA get passed early this year? Hope it's not a dumb question but if I apply now & CIR or DA pass in Feb,it would kinda be a waste of money. Plus Idk if they would be charging us some kind of fee to apply for our paperwork once those things are passed.
