Rick Perry has said many things. He supports in-state tuition but he is 100% responsible for turning DPS offices into immigration offices. Texas always required a SSN for a Driver's license and proper ID - translation of a birth certificate, passport, etc. Identity of the drivers was never in question.

He took it upon himself to make sure life would be hard for all immigrants, even those here on a student visa or temporary refugee status by making the drivers licenses expire when their visas expired and nobody who had less than 6 month until their visa would expire could renew.

Then he required those with existing licenses, insurance, etc. come in and show their papers. The result I'd imagine is that there are many more unlicensed (probably no insurance) on the roads now and many lives have been destroyed since they can't have bank accounts, travel, or otherwise live a normal yet hard life.

Even if those with DACA get a driver's licenses, they will for ever have a "star of david " stamped on it to remind them that they are not like the others.

Rick Perry is weird. He signed in the in-state tuition & in-state grants for illegal immigrants laws, but he's also very anti illegal-immigrant.

^Pretty much sums it up. Oh and DAUser he does not support the DA/CIR. Yes he signed the TX Dream Act in 2001 but it's not like he came up with the idea. He's an odd strange little man but better than other weirdos.
