Michael is a really smart guy, his book "Stupid White Men " was hilarious.

I also saw him on CNN once were he confronted them because they did a bias report on his new movie, after that, Lou Dobbs call him a communist. (figures)

My favorite documentary from him is Bowling for Columbine.

and I loved his academy award acceptance speech:

On behalf of our producers Kathleen Glynn and Michael Donovan from Canada, I'd like to thank the Academy for this.

I have invited my fellow documentary nominees on the stage with us, and we would like to — they're here in solidarity with me because we like nonfiction.

We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times.

We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president.

We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons.

Whether it's the fictition of duct tape or fictition of orange alerts we are against this war, Mr. Bush.

Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you.

And any time you got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up.

Thank you very much.

In other words i will e-mail him!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU. I hate this man. I love how everyone is riled up on Sicko but can't seem to realize that this "documentary" is being used to make a profit and to make a profit, you have to have something EXCITING and ACTION-PACKED *hint hint*. Those elements are not typical of a documentary that is unbiased. If you are pushing an idea, bring both sides to the floor and make a conclusion, not push your own private agenda so you can add a couple hundred million to your pocket and try to push it as a "political issue". BAH.

But back to the thread: If we can get it to happen, let's do it. No one can be as pushy as Moore and market an issue until there's no more left of the issue to market. Beware though; this could be a double-edged sword since I know TONS of people that will disagree with Moore no matter what. It could be great media exposure but could very well bring unwanted, hated-filled exposure.

Just my 2 cents.

Duels are overrated

Actually, I get into this fight with my bf every time we watch Fahrenheit 9/11....I'm all Moore-d out.

I must admit, Bowling for Columbine was *OK*.

^Poor Charlton Heston. Moore is such a dick for abusing Moses.

I don't like him because his films shouldn't be labeled as documentaries. Are you guys actually aware of how misrepresented the material in his films is?

If he made a film about us it would show us working the cotton fields and then led to gas chambers.

^ That was actually one of the points of Bowling for Columbine that was HILARIOUS. Moore deserved it for being a dick and having no class.

Anywho, I thought Bowling for Columbine was okay since it actually seemed like he was trying to find answers for something, as opposed to Fahrenheit 9/11 that really seemed to only want to poke fun at Pres. Bush.

You guys have some interesting points. If Michael Moore presented the same information in a strict documentary format...do you think that so many people would have gone to see it? The answer is NO! I don't think Michael Moore skews the information...he presents facts! Many people have tried to dispute the statements but they've come up short. What he shows are personal individual stories which draw people in emotionally. He does point out some events that are outrageous like when that guy cut off his fingers and had to choose which one he could put on due to his finances. If someone told me that story I wouldn't believe it!
