Got nothing against ANY group of people but just wanted to give an example..I know a Peruvian guy at my gym, maybe in his early 40's. Good guy in every way. But few days ago when we were discussing the North Korean situation while watching things unfold on the TV, he just kept saying, "This country is going down!," referring to America. I just can't understand people like that. And he seemed happy about it too. Why would you think something like that about a country that holds our future? Our kids will be growing up here FFS!

I think these people associate this great country with all the negatives (e.g. racists/jerks).

This is an awesome country. It has its imperfections like any other state in the international system, but we can work together to make it better.

USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!! USA!!!

Yep. Especially for this occasion. Wave the US flag. Be patriotic for God sake. We live here now. This is our country. Let's be thankful for all the opportunities that it has given us.

So this time it was Peruvian flag, my apologies to the undocumented Mexican Americans here. I will however say that in my line of work and being in Texas for 2 decades, I have either worked with or been in close proximity to immigrants from Africans to Asians to Latinos and I have never met a group of people living in another country who are as proud of the country they left as Mexicans.

I'm not talking about being proud of customs, family, heritage, or traditions, I'm talking about the actual country of Mexico where nobody can dare say anything negative about it. You talk to someone from a middle eastern country and they'll tell you something like "We have a rich culture, our people are warm and friendly, but man the country has problems...the government is corrupt, economy is bad, etc.". You talk to a Mexican and they say "Mexico is the greatest country on earth! Mexico's Soccer team is the best! All the modern inventions are stolen from Mexican ideas! We are the best Latin country - not like those damn people from Honduras and El Salvador" It almost sounds like they made a horrible horrible mistake by living in the US.

my point is, nationalism is fine you know what I take pride in my countrys soccer team but, if you are out crying for a reform, please leave that nationalism at home and don't bring out your flag. For a few days just suck up your nationalism and go with the flow
